Sankalpa

Before making any sankalpa (vow), devotees should first offer pooja to the deity. After that, they should silently express their intention (sankalpa) in their mind, and then chant the mantra “Om Sri Lakshmi Ranganathaya Namaha” 108 times to complete the sankalpa.

Procedure for the Sankalpa Pooja:

1. Every day, take a bath before 6 AM.

2. Light a lamp in front of the deity’s photo and offer incense.

3. Chant the mantra “Om Sri Lakshmi Ranganathaya Namaha” 108 times daily.

4. Finish the pooja by lighting camphor.

5. Continue this for 12 days.

Devotees from Aremallenahalli and nearby villages may also go to the hill (Betta) every day and perform this pooja there.
People from distant places can take the deity’s photo with them and perform the pooja at home.
On the final day, they must go to the hill, offer naivedya to the deity, and complete the pooja.
This marks the completion of the sankalpa.

During the sankalpa period, devotees must avoid non-vegetarian food and alcohol.
The stronger your faith and devotion while performing the sankalpa, the sooner your wishes will be fulfilled.

Some devotees begin their desired work or vows only after seeking the Lord’s approval by asking for Hoovina Prasada (flower omen). Once their wish is fulfilled, they complete their harake (vow).

If a couple is unable to have children, or if someone feels affected by negative energies, they offer the Tulasi Garland Seva to the Lord. This is one of the most beloved services to the deity. During this seva, one person must wear the Tulasi garland for 12 days. It is a very powerful vratha (vow) and must be performed with great devotion.

For all 12 days, the devotee wearing the garland must go to the hill at 5 AM every morning to attend the pooja, which is performed only by the priest.

After their wish is fulfilled, many devotees offer non-vegetarian food (edepara) as naivedya to complete their vow.
